ONE NEW MAN TODAY
Dr. Audrey L. Dickey, Los Angeles, CA (c)
If you consider yourself to be a part of the Family of God because of the Finished Work the Messiah did at the Cross it would mean that you have declared that you are a part of the One New Man, Ephesians 2:14-18. God desires that Jews and Gentiles come together in Messiah and worship as One New Man in faith.
The two groups which worshipped together and operated in the fivefold ministry gifts (Eph. 4:11-16) during the early church in the first century witnessed many miracles, power and blessings as a result of coming together in Yeshua/Jesus. The two were separated during the Dark Ages or Medieval Times and it was never God’s will, plan or desire.
We are called and destined to be one in the Kingdom of God, worshipping the One True Living God! There are benefits for both the Jewish Believer and the Non-Jewish Believer. As we continue moving forward insight, fresh revelation and understanding of the old covenant of what was concealed, to the understanding and revelation of what is being revealed in the new covenant will change and advance God’s Kingdom and give us life to the full as He purposed, John 10:10.
The Old and New Covenants are respectfully known as the Holy Bible. The Old Testament in Hebrew is known as the Tanakh. The first five books are referred to as the Torah. The New Testament in Hebrew is called B’rit Hadashah.
As we draw neigh to God, He will draw neigh to us, James 4:8. As One New Man we will continue forward in Jesus’ name and restore what was stolen from God’s people. We decree insight, understanding, revelation, miracles, the fivefold ministry gifts and the gifts of the Spirit, I Cor. 12:7-11, 28 will be utilized in Believers as God wills. We will operate in faith, spiritual gifts, talents with signs and wonders to such a degree that God’s glory will manifest on the earth like we have never seen before.
We decree that the structure of the fivefold ministry (Eph. 4:11-16) that was stolen from the church will be restored during this new church age through the One New Man. The Kingdom of God in turn will continue to advance to the Glory of the King of kings. It is His hour and time to reveal His Glory, restore, recover and make new. It is Jubilee and harvest time for those who can believe!
Furthermore, as a One New Man in the Kingdom of God you would be referred to as a Christian or as a Messianic Jew; as a Believer; as Born-again; a Saint; an Evangelical; a Child of God; Saved; a son or daughter of God; a child of God; and as a sister or brother in the Lord to name a few terms used in the Kingdom of God regarding your choice to having received the Messiah Jesus/Yeshua as your Lord and Savior. But before Christendom began all of the first Believers were Jewish followers in the Messiah, the Anointed One of Israel and the church was called “The Way!"
“Christ destroyed the division between Jews and non-Jews, providing all people the opportunity to be saved by grace. In His death He reconciled sinners to God, destroying our hatred for Him. Jesus founded the church and is the uniting power for it” (Ephesians 2:14-22). Thus Jesus/Yeshua opened the way for us to live in God’s presence. The Holy Spirit is that Presence of God in and with us.
One of the devices Satan used to cause division between the Church and Jews was Replacement Theology, an erroneous teaching which misinformed Christians and resulted in some Christians (or in some cases those who were Christians in name only) mistreating Jewish people. This teaching was especially done during the Dark Ages when the common people had to rely on their leadership for their teaching. At that time the leadership was under orders to teach the lie that God was done with the Jews and that the Church was to replace them. But the truth of the matter is, the Bible says that Christians are ‘adopted’ into the family of God, Ephesians 1:5; Romans 8:15; Psalm 27:10 and are ‘grafted’ into the family according to Romans 11:17-19.
“No New Testament author suggested in any way that the Hebrew Scriptures were obsolete, and neither did Yeshua. Yeshua/Jesus is quoted in John 10:16 as saying, “But I also have sheep which are not from this sheepfold: and it is necessary for Me to lead those and they will hear My voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.” Yeshua was speaking to the Jewish people referring to the non-Jews as the other flock. In Matthew 5:18 Yeshua said “that not one yod or vav would drop from Torah until the sky and the earth would pass away” The One New Man Bible. (Yod and Vav are the two smallest letters in the Hebrew alphabet).
To further make this point, the following is an illustration of a family which has children and chooses to adopt other children. Does the adopted child(ren) replace the natural children? Of course not, the adopted children are a welcome addition into the family. Even if the adopted child(ren) came first, once a child is born into the family the natural biological addition does not replace the adopted first child in the home. On the contrary, they have the opportunity of becoming one big happy family! (Ephesians 2:14-20).
Jewish people are forerunners that went through the storm so we Christians would know what to do by their examples of faith, success and failures. If they were perfect there would not have been anything to write about. Furtherore, I don’t know of any perfect Christians either, but I do know that all people in the world need a Savior, whether they are a Jew or a Gentile.
Ephesians 2:12-20 AMP says,
"[Remember] that you were at that time separated (living apart) from Christ [excluded from all part in Him], utterly estranged and outlawed from the rights of Israel as a nation, and strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the [Messianic] promise [with no knowledge of or right in God’s agreements, His covenants]. And you had no hope (no promise); you were in the world without God. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near. For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us, by abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself ONE NEW MAN [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end. And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near. For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God’s own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God’s [own] household. You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone."
