Questions - What is a Mantle, what is the purpose of a mantle, what purpose did it serve and what purpose does it serve today?
A mantle was a covering. There were different kinds of mantles but it was used for wrapping around the body when going to sleep. The mantle represented keeping you warm, protection and to encourage you to rest in Him and have peace. It was first and foremost a wrapping around you as a blanket around your body. That mantle could be used for an oath but it had to be returned by law back to your hand by evening time because that was when it was actually wrapped around you.
We do not need physical mantles today we are priest unto God. God has given to you today, a prophetic mantle. A mantle of gifting that is your anointing. When you learn from a teacher a mantle is being cast upon you. A mantle represented a man’s gift, the call of God and the purpose for which God has called him.
An anointed mantle is a piece of cloth that has been prayed over and unusual miracles took place, see Acts 19:11-12.
The mantle is worn on your body and specifically worn by prophets. The mantle was the official garment of a prophet and it was a garment of distinction worn by kings but especially by prophets. A prophet wore a mantle because it also represented what God was going to cast on a generation.
Also it was a sign and symbol of sacrifice and commitment. The life of a prophet was not the life of luxuries you could have luxuries but your life was a life of commitment and sacrifice.
The absence of a mantle or the prophetic gift causes an increase in spiritual witchcraft and a false religious domination of fear, intimidation and manipulation. If we do not know about tomorrow, if the prophetic is removed from us, from our churches, from the news and media, etc. if it is taken away immediately the vision is removed and destruction begins, we go backwards.
However, we are not going back we are going forward that is what this prophet is telling you, says Kim C. At this very moment in time in this nation, in the church worldwide there are sources of information coming that are not from the Spirit of God. Once there is a prophetic presence, a prophetic mantle or celebration in a church, in a work, in a business where you know the future, you are seeking God to show you the strategies, to show you His ways, (teach me your paths that I may walk in them); to show me your ways, means to show me your next course of events and then teach me how I can operate and align myself with your next course of events. All great men prayed, show me your ways because if we do not know what God is going to do next, how do we pray effectively, how do we give effectively and sow into our future and into the prophetic. God is faithful to show you the season you are in. God is preparing the future for you so when you get there and you are very close in the place of destiny, there is a double portion waiting for you; there is a breakthrough waiting for you; there is abundance and multiplication waiting for you.
In the month of September we are in the time of The Feast of Triumphs or Rosh Hashanah (the actual New Year according to God’s Calendar) and that means the Double Portion, a portion that will come to you. The mantle speaks of a spiritual transfer from one to another. We are calling on God to transfer our designated portion from heaven to earth, upon us, our families, our children and this generation.
What is your designated portion for this generation, upon your family, what is it? Most of you have tapped into it and you know what it is: the goodness of God, the glory of good, exploits, unusual miracles, debt freedom and on and on. So as Elijah’s mantle was transferred to Elisha so also there is a mantle being transferred from heaven to you and me. When the mantle was taken from Elijah, Elisha took it and put it around him. Too whom much is given, much is required.
The double portion also means you move beyond being just an individual now He is going to touch an entire city not only is there a double portion in your sight, but in your understanding, on your revelation, in your gifting, but you are going to have a double portion on your influence, it will move from individuals, to families to cities being touched.
